Your role in the team
- In THOMAS SABO’s new AI unit, you will be responsible for the technical side.
- From day one, you will work closely with the head of the staff unit and build the unit together.
- Together, you turn prioritized use cases into working AI solutions—from the initial idea through prototyping and piloting to stable operations.
- You’re the person on the team who knows which AI tools, platforms, and interfaces are right for a given problem and how to integrate them cleanly and securely into our systems.
- You complement management’s strategic direction with technical depth, particularly in integration, data, and security.
- From the outset, you will be part of the AI Office, working in tandem with its leadership to combine strategy and technology.
- The leadership team is responsible for strategy, prioritization, communication, change management, and reporting to the executive management.
- You are responsible for the technical quality of the solutions, as well as integration, data, and security.
- You will decide on the selection of tools and platforms together with management, in coordination with IT.
- Your focus is on implementation.
- As needed, you will also contribute your technical expertise to discussions with executive management and department heads.
- You support management from the outset in workshops and process mapping sessions where technical expertise is required, contributing the technical perspective.
- You quickly gain an overview of the system landscape, interfaces, data sources, existing AI licenses, and tools used unofficially.
- You assess whether and how a use case can be implemented technically: using which data and systems, with what level of effort, and with what risks.
- You develop solution options ranging from simple automation to generative AI and AI agents.
- You assess the effort involved, ongoing costs, and operational requirements.
- For management’s business cases, you provide estimates of effort, costs, and feasibility, including ongoing costs for licenses, infrastructure, and operations.
- You support the development of rapid prototypes to test ideas early with real data and real users.
- You define test cases, measure the quality of the results, and continuously improve prompts, workflows, and models.
- You identify core systems and support their integration with AI solutions in collaboration with the company’s internal IT department.
- You evaluate the integration of external systems via interfaces and connectors such as APIs or MCP servers.
- Before developing anything new, evaluate the AI features already included in existing systems against external AI applications.
- For each use case, you work with the relevant business department to determine what data is needed, where it is stored, how good its quality is, and who is responsible for it.
- Together with IT and data owners, you ensure clean and authorized access to the data.
- Together with the department head, you evaluate AI platforms and tools and select them in coordination with IT.
- These include language models, Copilot solutions, agent frameworks, as well as automation and low-code tools.
- With support from IT, you will develop a technology blueprint.
- It defines which platforms we use, how solutions are built, and which data can go into which tool.
- You monitor the market and assess new developments objectively.
- You implement technical requirements relating to data protection, IT security, and the EU AI Act, such as access permissions, logging, monitoring, and the protection of sensitive data.
- You coordinate with IT security and data protection on technical matters and prepare the documentation for approval.
- You document solutions in a way that enables IT to operate them reliably, and hand them over to operations in a structured manner.
- You remain technically responsible for the AI-specific components, such as prompts, models, connectors, and quality monitoring, even after handover.
- You further develop the solutions based on user feedback and measurement results.
- If required, you will manage external implementation partners at a technical level.
- You support the management team in training sessions with demos and practical examples.
- You are the technical point of contact for AI champions in the departments.
