We are one of the few companies in Austria successfully implementing AI on-prem and on-device in sensitive areas – and we are looking for a lead who will take this to the next level.

Role

• As a Team Lead/Lead Engineer/CTO, you assume overall technical responsibility and lead an interdisciplinary development team. You report directly to the executive management and operate at the second management level. You do not just fit into an existing structure, but actively shape it: the team is expected to grow to over 10 developers by 2027 – and you will influence how this growth unfolds.
• We are deliberately looking fornot just strategists, but a results-oriented personalitysomeone who is deeply embedded in the system themselves – someone who not only manages open source and enterprise IT but actively drives and delivers it consistently.

Responsibilities

• Technical and organizational leadership of a 4-member development team (AI, UX, DevOps, Backend) with a clear growth perspective to over 10 developers by 2027.
• DevOps Responsibility: CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Containerization with Docker/Docker Compose; orchestration and scaling (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Nomad, or similar).
• Backend development in Java as well as ensuring the scalability of the application
• Server administration and management (Linux)
• Monitoring & Observability (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTel)
• SaaS and On-Prem deployments including backup, disaster recovery, and high availability concepts.
• Networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS, Reverse Proxies, Firewalls)
• Operational implementation and ongoing management of an ISO-27001-compliant ISMS – at the code, tool, and process level.
• IT security hands-on: vulnerability and patch management, security hardening of servers, containers, and applications via code, identity & access management, secrets management, logging, and audit trails
• Participation in risk analyses, asset management, and Statement of Applicability (SoA)
• Support for internal and external audits (ISO 27001, TISAX, GDPR)
• Promotion of secure software development (OWASP Top 10, Supply Chain Security, SBOM)
• Use of AI-assisted Coding – responsibly, with security awareness, and with access to our proprietary as well as On-Device tools.
