Founding AI Engineer / Senior Developer

What it's about

We are Markus and Thomas, the founders of replient. Over 900 companies – e-commerce brands, creators, and agencies – have their social media comments answered and moderated by our AI: on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn, in the brand's tone, in every language, around the clock. Especially under Meta and TikTok ads, a quick, good response determines revenue – and an ignored hate comment costs them.

We are now looking for the person who will take our replication to the next level technically with us. Not a ticket handler, but ourFounding AI Engineer: You take over the technology of replient – the existing platform, all features, and everything that is coming next – with a say in every feature and a clear perspective on theCTO role.

Next, a new AI product line is in the pipeline that not only responds but also learns from real results. The project is funded by the FFG and the State of Upper Austria and is being implemented in collaboration with researchers from FH OÖ. We will tell you more about it in the first conversation.

What you do with us

• Ownership for the entire platform:You take over the codebase, architecture, quality, releases, and monitoring of replient – all existing features, from the first commit to a satisfied customer.
• You decide what we build:Roadmap and prioritization are developed together with us founders, based on customer conversations and data.
• The new AI product line:You are responsible for the technical implementation of our funded R&D project – from initial experiments to the finished product – working closely with the researchers from FH OÖ.
• AI as a Product Advantage:LLM pipelines, prompting, evals, agents, and automations – so Replit responds better than a human community team.
• Platform integrations:Meta Graph API (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Google – including Webhooks, Rate Limits and App Reviews.
• Consider social media:How do creators, brands, and agencies tick? Which features give them more reach, more revenue, and less stress?
• Tech team and working methods:With Claude Code, Cursor & Co., you demonstrate how a small team can ship extremely much – and as we grow, you will help build the tech team, including hiring.

Your first 90 days

• Day 1–30:You are familiar with the codebase, infrastructure, and clients, have spoken with users, and have deployed the first features and fixes.
• Days 31–60:You will take over the initial areas of the platform end-to-end and join us and the FH OÖ in launching the new AI product line.
• Days 61–90:You present your tech and product roadmap for the next 12 months – for the existing platform and the new product – and implement it.

What we offer

• €90,000 gross per year fixed(14 salaries of approximately €6,429 each) – significantly above the market level for senior developers in Upper Austria.
• Growth Bonus:1% of the ARR growth that Replient achieves during your time with us. You directly benefit from what you build.
• CTO Perspective:You take over the technology from replient, grow into the CTO role, and help us build the tech team.
• A funded R&D project:a new AI product line with scientific support from FH Upper Austria – and hundreds of paying customers as the playing field.
• Real participation:You make product decisions with us, not for us.
• Hybrid:about 2 days a week in the office in Lichtenberg near Linz, the rest in home office, flexible working hours.
• Equipment:Laptop of your choice, the AI tools you are fastest with, and a budget for further training.
• A small, agile team with short decision-making paths – and no meetings for the sake of meetings.

Honestly: This is not for you if …

• You need clear specs and a fixed sprint framework. With us, many things are still open, and you shape them.
• only want to write code and never speak with clients.
• you do not want to document experiments. Funded R&D requires proper documentation, including time tracking.
• You don't want platform dependencies to stress you out. Meta and TikTok change their APIs, so sometimes you have to act quickly.
• You are building a large engineering team with many senior colleagues. You will set it up with us first.

This is how the application process works

• 1. Application (approx. 10 minutes):Resume and brief answers to our questions. No cover letter needed.
• 2. Introduction with the founders (30 minutes, online):Motivation, experience, and any questions you have for us.
• 3.Tech and Product Session (60 minutes):You present us with your own project, we work together to solve a real problem from our everyday life, and discuss your feature ideas for replient.
• 4. Trial Day in Lichtenberg:You are building a small feature for a real Replit task – AI tools explicitly allowed – and presenting us with the result.
• 5. Offer:within 48 hours after the trial day.

Salary information

• For this position, the IT collective agreement applies, employment group ST2, experience level, with a minimum base salary of €5,444 gross per month (14×). We pay significantly more: €6,429 gross per month (14×, which is €90,000 per year) plus a growth bonus.
