Comment: Code-Qualität ist grundsätzlich gut.
Documentation
There's a strong focus on comprehensible documentation of the applications.
Comment: Für AnwenderInnen gibt es vernünftige Dokumentation. Für DeveloperInnen ist die Dokumentation jedoch weitaus mehr als nur mangelhaft, hier muss dringend aufgeholt werden. Der Code ist nicht nur schwer verständlich (bei PVE sehr viel Legacy Code), sondern auch mangelhaft dokumentiert.
Continuous Delivery
The process from the code commit up to production is well automated.
Comment: CI/CD existiert in dieser Firma nicht, die gesamte Entwicklung läuft über öffentliche Mailing-Listen. Das mag manchen Menschen gefallen, es ist aber anfangs vor allem schwer durchschaubar und bis man erstmal in diesen Prozess eingearbeitet ist, dauert es eine Weile. Man darf hier nicht State-of-the-Art erwarten.
Modern TechStack
The team is free to work with the most modern technologies and tools.
Comment: Teilweise veralteter Code bei Proxmox Virtual Environment. Ist aber natürlich klar, dass für einen Rewrite hier die Kapazitäten fehlen. UI/UX Design spielt hier relativ wenig eine Rolle. Ob das einem gefällt, muss jeder Developer/jede Developerin sich selbst überlegen.
Open Source Contribution
Providing open-source-software to the community is important to the team.
Comment: In dieser Hinsicht ist nichts zu beanstanden, Proxmox ist 100% open-source.
Product Participation
Developers aren't just working off tasks, but also have a voice in the decision making process of the products.
Comment: Partizipation in der Entscheidungsfindung ist immer möglich, wird aber nicht aktiv gefördert.
Meeting Efficiency
Nobody shall be wasting their time in inconclusive meetings.
Comment: Dieser Punkt ist nicht wirklich zutreffend, da es keine wirklichen Meetings gibt. Das mag interessant klingen, fördert aber nicht den Zusammenhalt im Team.

Excellent requirements- and project-management is a given.
Comment: Anforderungs-und Projektmanagement existiert hier nicht. Als Developer sucht man sich meistens selber Arbeit auf dem Bugzilla der Firma. Man sollte sich gut überlegen, ob dieser Arbeitsmodus einem gefällt.

Juniors are always welcome und will get the support they need.
Comment: Einige Senior Developer helfen einem sehr gerne, aber grundsätzlich wird man hier absolut nicht gefördert. Man ist sehr auf sich allein gestellt. Hier wäre es hilfreich, wenn man als Junior zumindest etwas mehr Einführung in die Codebase bekommt. Stattdessen gibt es Wiki-Artikel, in die man sich einlesen muss.

Comment: Während die meisten KollegInnen einem gerne helfen, merkt man bei einigen doch eine gewisse Abgehobenheit, die das Fragenstellen nicht angenehmer macht. Grundsätzlich aber in Ordnung.

Comment: Bei der Arbeitseinteilung ja, weil nichts wirklich vorgegeben wird und man mehr oder weniger auf sich allein gestellt ist. Jedoch gibt es standardmäßig kein Homeoffice, dies weist definitiv auf mangelndes Vertrauen zwischen Management und MitarbeiterInnen hin.

Comment: Gute Hardware, jedoch nur Desktop-PCs und keine Laptops.

Comment: Standardmäßig kein Homeoffice, dies ist bei einer Softwarefirma äußerst ungewöhnlich. Flexible Arbeitszeiten sind zumeist möglich.

Comment: Räumlichkeiten sind in Ordnung, aber nicht mehr als das.

Comment: Die Stimmung im Team ist meines Erachtens nicht besonders gut. Zusammenarbeit passiert hier relativ wenig, man arbeitet sehr viel alleine und erhält wenig Förderung von erfahrerenen DeveloperInnen.
Communication Culture
All of the staff members are always up to date and can openly express their opinion.
Comment: Es gibt hier nicht viele Möglichkeiten sich zu äußern, da es keine Meetings gibt. Kommunikation scheint generell hier mangelhaft zu sein. Die Tatsache, dass die gesamte Entwicklung nur über Mailinglisten läuft, ist hier nicht hilfreich.

All team members are diverse with regards to gender, background and age.
Comment: Der Anteil an Frauen ist gering, und es gibt keine erkennbaren Initiativen zur Förderung der Diversität. Für IT-Branche jedoch durchschnittlich.

Comment: Wertschätzung erfährt man hier nicht wirklich, man muss, wie gesagt, damit zufrieden sein, Feedback größtenteils unpersönlich über die Mailingliste zu erhalten.
