Four of us identify as women, 5 of us are white, one person is Indian. And while we are all without visible disabilities, we hope to have developed a team culture that feels welcoming and inclusive to everyone. Some of us have traditional IT education backgrounds, others have pivoted their careers from other fields into programming. We value diversity of identities and working backgrounds to bring broader perspectives to our team and into the software we develop. English is our interpersonal working language. For some meetings with internal and external stakeholders, a basic understanding of spoken German will be helpful.

• Architectural design of new applications
• Further development and updating of existing projects
• Code reviews and team discussions about our coding guidelines
• Continuous improvement of our development and deployment processes
• Documentation of our projects for the wider open source community
• Participation in planning meetings with our diverse users and stakeholders
• We follow roughly a Scrum-like approach, with daily stand-ups and sprints, usually lasting 3 weeks.
• The backend team (which you will be part of) has a weekly meeting as an open space to discuss issues that come up during the sprints, e.g. code or architecture style decisions.
• At the end of each sprint, we have an additional open space meeting or skill sharing session.
