Our expectations of you

Education

• High school diploma and 7 years of professional experience or a university degree (Bachelor/Master) and 5 years of professional experience.

Qualifications

• Austrian citizenship.
• Fulfillment of the professional qualification requirements for the RIVIT role 'Senior System Engineer' (RIVIT 3).
• Knowledge of network protocols and services: In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP/S, and other fundamental network protocols, as well as skills in configuration and troubleshooting.
• Excellent knowledge in the areas of operating systems (Linux, Windows, MacOS), authentication methods, and security concepts, as well as good knowledge in the field of IT core services (database systems as well as mail and web infrastructure).
• Basic knowledge of project management practices and tools is advantageous for effectively planning and implementing network projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, good English proficiency, consistency, continuity, resilience, and assertiveness, especially under high pressure, as well as good organizational skills.
• Proactivity, flexibility, and willingness to perform, absolute confidentiality, excellent social skills and strong team spirit, as well as independent assumption of responsibilities associated with the area of activity, taking into account appropriateness, cost-effectiveness, frugality, and goal orientation.
• High level of willingness to develop further as well as willingness to participate in technical discussions, conferences, and training events domestically and internationally.
• Willingness to undergo security screening in accordance with §§ 55 ff SPG and trustworthiness verification in accordance with §2a SNG.

Experience

• Excellent knowledge in the field of network systems and structures as well as experience with network software such as pfsense.
• Practical experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers from various manufacturers, as well as knowledge in the use of network management and monitoring tools.
• Understanding of virtualization technologies and container networking, knowledge of technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, as well as experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker Swarm in the context of network functions and security.
