Senior Systems Engineer – DevOps

Our team provides an in-house platform that covers everything from application development with GitLab to deployment in Kubernetes and AWS.

Specifically for the production operation of Kubernetes and PostgreSQL, we rely on the services of a partner. Infrastructure systems, e.g., for logging (Elastic Stack) and monitoring (Prometheus and Grafana), as well as internal Kubernetes clusters, are operated by us on virtual machines provided by the Core Infrastructure Team (with a focus on Linux).

In close collaboration with the application development teams, the core infrastructure operations team, and our external operations partners, we continuously maintain and develop this platform.

Technologies important to us that you know and ideally master: Linux (Debian, Oracle Linux), Kubernetes, AWS, Ansible, Terraform/OpenTofuContainer (Docker), Internet & Security Protocols (HTTP/S, PKI, TLS...), Git (GitLab/GitHub), CI Pipelines (GitLab CI), Helm, Prometheus, Elastic Stack, Shell/Bash Scripting, Python

You are familiar with or even acquainted with these technologies:Databases (PostgreSQL), Message Broker (RabbitMQ), Nginx, HAProxy, VM Hypervisor (Proxmox)

Your role

• Operation, maintenance, and continuous updating of the DevOps infrastructure
• Ensuring a stable and reliable operation of the DevOps platform as well as analyzing and coordinating responses to anomalies or disruptions.
• Support and advise development teams on the effective use of our DevOps platform and CI/CD workflows.
• Analysis and further development of the existing workflows, tools, and systems of the DevOps platform
• Expansion of platform capabilities with a focus on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency
• Further development and optimization of the platform architecture in close collaboration with development and operations.

• The gross annual salary starts at €60,000, depending on your level of experience. We are happy to discuss your actual salary in person – depending on your professional experience and qualifications.
