Team

How large is the Dev/IT team? How is the team organized by roles?

At Myos, as a FinTech, the technical platform is crucial, overseen by Tim and Frane. The team, consisting of 10 members, comprises 6 employees in engineering and 4 in product and process management. Their focus is on building artificial intelligence, automations, and maintaining internal services and applications to enhance product evaluation and financing.

How is your team organized, and why did you choose a particular structure? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Myos views itself as a large platform team overseeing everything from process analysis to product improvement deployment. This approach allows for quick decision-making and short communication channels, essential for a dynamic startup like Myos.

What makes your team special compared to others?

While a smaller team, Myos boasts a high level of expertise, with many members having years of experience in various FinTech companies. This experience allows the team to efficiently tackle standard problems, focusing on value-generating processes at Myos.

Recruiting

How is your department integrated into the recruiting process?

The team is involved in the entire recruiting process, from defining the requirements to making the final decision. This ensures that team members have a say in whether the candidates are suitable for the team.

Is there a specific procedure for new colleagues? How are they integrated?

New employees are assigned a "Buddy" to assist with questions and onboarding during the initial weeks. Bootcamps introduce new hires to other teams and colleagues. Myos ensures a supportive onboarding experience, avoiding a sink-or-swim approach.

Besides technical qualifications, what else do you value when looking for IT specialists for your team?

Myos places a strong emphasis on personality fit. Prospective team members need to align with the team's culture, ensuring a good mix of personalities. Enthusiasm and joy for the job are also valued traits.

Technologies

What technical challenges do you face?

The current focus is on preparing the system landscape for substantial growth. Balancing ad-hoc requests and bug fixes while staying within a reasonable time frame is an ongoing challenge.

What technologies do you work with?

The Tech Team at Myos utilizes TypeScript, NodeJS, ReactJS, Kubernetes, Docker, GraphQL, Apollo, Python, Tensorflow, and n8n. Across the entire Myos team, essential tools include Slack for internal communication, Trello for project management, and the CRM system Pipedrive.

How has the company's technology changed since its founding?

The MVP was initially built without a dedicated tech team, using no-code tools and Google Sheets. This functional but non-scalable MVP was swiftly replaced. Today, the system runs on a Microservice infrastructure in the Cloud, reflecting the company's growth and evolving technological needs.
