1. As an application manager, you are responsible for the stable operation of the service you manage as part of 2nd level support. This includes ticket analysis and processing, error analysis, troubleshooting and also working on deployments, where the components newly developed by software engineering are transferred into ongoing operations.
2. There are various monitoring tools available to you to monitor the application and help you identify the sources of errors. You can also use log files for this purpose.
3. Many of our own developments are based on Java. It is therefore important to be able to interpret the program code in order to involve colleagues from software engineering (3rd level support) in the solution process as part of troubleshooting. These then adopt the changes in the code. In some cases, developments in line with the DevOps approach are carried out directly by application management.
4. Malfunctions that affect the application can also have their origin in the infrastructure: If you have discovered that problems have occurred with the network connection, the server or the storage, for example, contact the BRZ colleagues from the responsible team Connection and orchestrate the necessary steps.
5. To make the changes in the system traceable, use various documentation tools such as Confluence.
6. You will be involved in new developments right from the project phase in order to incorporate your expertise on operational topics. This helps make later maintenance easier.
